Introduction to Distributed Rendering

Course includes:

  • Identifying resources available through the access grid, such as multimedia large-format displays and presentation and interactive environments

  • Understanding the distributed rendering environment (DRE) at Purdue, which is part of the high-performance classroom (HPC) initiative

  • Using the DRE system to render 3D models and animations over several computers distributed across the campus where students can access them using their career accounts
